A little about us.....

We built our first garden room back in 2003, and since then things have changed a lot. For a long time we built all our buildings with a concrete base and we constructed the entire structure ourselves on site from scratch. In more recent times we've changed our building techniques to improve insulation and build quality, reduce our impact on the environment, and save on site labour time. For a long time garden buildings was a sideline to our carpentry and building business, but as demand grew for our buildings, we decided to start Green Rooms and concentrate on this growing industry.

With the launch of our website we're expanding our business a step further opening us up to the whole of the UK as opposed to a small corner of Essex. We still stick to the same company ethics though. We don't just put up garden buildings that are off the shelf. When you buy a building from Green Rooms you get a completely bespoke service. We have a number of options for every part of your building, but if there's something in particular that you'd like then just let us know and we'll do what we can to deliver exactly what you want.

A few years ago a friend of mine asked if we could build him a soundproof music studio, and I wondered why I hadn't thought of this before. Once upon a time I completed a degree in Music & Music Technology and I realised that soundproof studios would be a perfect avenue for Green Rooms to follow as a specialism of ours. It combines our experience of both areas, and I think our customers really appreciate our passion for both areas.

As people become more aware of the need to protect our environment we are constantly looking for and researching new and more environmentally friendly materials to work with. Not only because it's what our customers want but because we think it's important. At the moment we're looking for a viable alternative to gypsum plaster. Gypsum is not a very environmentally friendly product and we'd prefer not to use it however there aren't many realistic alternatives at this time, but we will keep looking. In recent times we've become more involved with such things as solar panels, green roofs and rainwater harvesting systems. These are quite new products for us to be offering but we are proud that we do.
